Notarizations at Santa Barbara County Jail

county-jail.png

Do you need to have a document notarized at Santa Barbara County Jail? Typically, these might include a power of attorney so that a spouse, friend, or family member can conduct business on the inmate’s behalf while they are incarcerated. As notaries, we are able to visit with the inmate one night a week to conduct signings after checking in and getting clearance from a Deputy Sheriff at the front desk.

The actual process for notarization at an incarceration facility is highly specialized and not every notary has the experience to conduct a notarization correctly the first time. First, we would meet you in the parking lot outside to get the documents. It can take a bit of time for the inmate to be located and brought to the visiting area, where we conduct the notarization. A Deputy Sheriff escorts us back to the lobby where we leave the County Jail and meet with you again outside to transfer the document(s) and receive payment.

We have a great deal of experience with notarizations at Santa Barbara County Jail as we have been doing them for many years and feel comfortable interacting with inmates without judgment as to why they are there. If you or a loved one is in need of our services with this specialized kind of notarization, let us know and we’d be happy to help.
